About the event
Grab some good shoes and your backpack, it's time to go explore! Together, we visit natural areas around the central valley, learn how nature works, and discuss the role of the artists such as Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keefe in preserving it! Each hike includes art time, where students will learn the basics of doing art on the go, and have the chance to make art pieces that reflect their journey.
Sessions will:
teach students about animal habitats
explore the role of water in various ecosystems
discuss natural cycles, including lifecycles and seasonal cycles
cover the basics of hiking etiquette
learn responsibility for the natural world
integrate science into artistic expression
develop situational awareness and hand/eye coordination
build strength and endurance
connect classroom concepts with real world adventures!
Art supplies are included.
