Nature Excursions Series

These hands-on excursions are designed to connect classroom experience with real world adventures! Students learn about California's unique habitats by exploring ecosystems while build strength and situational awareness along the way.

This is an ideal workshop for new explorers, as the only things you need to be concerned about are wearing comfy shoes and sun screen! Together, we venture out to a new location and discuss a concept of how we can and should interact with nature. We begin with very simple, short, easy trails with no climbing or incline and work up to longer trails with some incline. Between each adventure, families are provided with mini activities and extra information to support learning integration. Because of the nature of these excursions, students must be accompanied by an adult through all aspects of our time together.

Workshops take place on Fridays, although they may be rescheduled to Saturday depending on weather conditions. Session lengths vary, but generally will fill a morning. Babies and toddlers are welcome, but cannot be enrolled in the workshop. Some trails may not be appropriate for strollers. Transportation is not included!

We currently plan to visit Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, Mokelumne River Day Use Area, Caswell Memorial State Park, and Knights Ferry Recreation Area. Locations will be confirmed in March, but may still be adjusted, as conditions such as snow melts, storms, fires, and other natural and human factors may impact the safety and accessibility of certain areas. Safety is our first priority, then education!

Tag-Along Pass (for little siblings only--does not include all items in the workshop pass!): $120

Single Session (does not include physical items from the workshop pass): $38

Please note that this is an interest form ONLY! An interest form must be submitted for each student, and a staff member will follow up with you afterward. Students are not enrolled in a class or workshop until payment or a voucher/PO is recieved.
