About the event
From instructors who have worked with hundreds of college and high school students alike, this workshop is designed to help dual-enrolled college students avoid the pitfalls and frustrations that plagued those unfamiliar with college grading styles and how to navigate professor expectations. In a three hour blitz, students will cover tips and tricks to navigating timed responses, using instructor-provided materials to their advantage, properly using evidence and avoiding plagiarism, and preparing for finals.
In the week after the workshop concludes, attendees will have the chance to attend a 20 minute one-on-one session with one of the presentors to get feedback on an assignment of their choice or discuss an area they would like to strengthen.
Ms. Jay has served as a writing coach and student mentor both at their alma mater and as Thousand Grains of Salt’s librarian. Ms. Claire has graded over 4,000 college finals submissions and continues to cry over those finals every semester (so don’t try to guess where!).
